Indian volleyball suffers pair of five-set losses

The volleyball match between Saugatuck and Delton started well enough for the Indians, who won the first set 25-23.
But Delton won three of the remaining four sets to post the 23-25, 25-23, 25-14, 20-25, 15-7 win over Saugatuck.
Maddie Moore paced Saugatuck (19-6) with 17 blocks. Emma Harry had 21 assists and Melody Antel led the way with 14 digs.
The loss was the second straight five-set defeat for Saugatuck, which dropped a 15-25, 16-25, 25-20, 25-20, 18-16 decision to Watervliet on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
Moore had 18 kills in that match to go with seven blocks, while Harry had 24 assists. Antel and Kierstyn Stoin each had 12 digs.
Fennville upends Gobles
A strong performance from Kamryn VanDyke helped carry Fennville past Gobles on the volleyball court on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
VanDyke posted team-highs of 18 kills, 38 digs and three blocks as the Blackhawks pulled out the 25-15, 26-24, 16-25, 23-25, 15-11 victory.
Josie Galiger added 28 assists, while Danielle Davis served up 11 aces.
