Saugatuck soccer plays four games in five days
It seemed only fitting that, during the week of Labor Day, the Saugatuck boys’ soccer team—including Winston Marcy (pictured)—labored by playing four games in a five-day span from Tuesday, Sept. 3, to Saturday, Sept. 7.
Following an 8-0 home loss to Allegan on Tuesday, Sept. 3, the Indians traveled to Bangor on Thursday, Sept. 5, and suffered the 3-2 loss.
“We were the better team two thirds of the game, but they took advantage of their chances,” Saugatuck coach Neal Phillips said.
Saugatuck then played in the Libertas Christian Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 7, dropping a 3-2 decision to the host team before beating Hope Academy 2-1. (Photo by Brenda Marcy)
