After suffering a 13-2 setback in the opener game of a doubleheader against Hackett Catholic Central on Monday, May 15, Saugatuck bounced back to take the nightcap 14-10.
A big second inning helped the Indians to the win, as Saugatuck plated seven runs in the frame to snap a 1-1 tie.
Kathryn Shanahan led the offensive charge, going 4-for-5 with three runs and an RBI. Melody Antel and Emma Harry each went 3-for-4 with a triple, three runs and an RBI, while Erica Gentry went 3-for-4 with a run.
Alexa Philips also had multiple hits, going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, two runs and an RBI.
Harry pitched all seven innings for the win, striking out seven.
In the opener, Saugatuck fell behind 8-0 after two innings and never recovered.
Shanahan singled twice in the loss.
