U.S. presidential hopeful Buttigieg visits here July 21

Democratic presidential candidate and South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg will make his first Michigan campaign appearance in Saugatuck Sunday, July 21, with a funder/reception from 3 to 5 p.m.
Buttigieg, 37, is a Harvard University graduate and former military officer who was elected and re-elected mayor of the Indiana city in 2011 and 2015. Before his re-election, Buttigieg came out as gay.
He announced his campaign for president April 14, joining a field of now 24 contenders seeking to upend incumbent and likely 2020 Republican re-election nominee Donald Trump.
